Almost Autumn...

Crisp Apple Morning,

Color beginning to change,

not because of the Temperature

(as is commonly Believed)
but because of the change

in Light,

how the angle

and the Distance

have Diminished and Strengthened

as Shadows lengthen

as you slow your pace

and gather your Breath

cursing your Good Intentions

and, say,

have I told you

I have heard mention

"One is punished best

for One's Virtues"

Lawdy, yes,

how I've come to Believe

in this

and so much more is True...

 

See the Breeze,

cannot be felt

behind windows,

room sized and thermal;

the flag as it flutters

give the wind's speed and direction;

all that is need3d

is an eye patch and a parrot,

if you make the connection,

playful, confection of a Day,

who would have it

any other way?...
