Tis a Far, Far Better Thing I Do...

It's true,
a few birds start early,
before the sun rises,
hoping for the worm;
as squirrels hop
from branch to branch,
never noticing the world turns...
Nor do you and i,
though we may never ask why,
it's what we've been taught
Is it just another line we have bought
from the powers that be
to rule us, to fool us,
to govern absolutely?
What care i of kings and queens,
and so called democracy
when they have no real power over me?
just what i allow them...
