Helmeted moon,
ready to fight the coming Dawn
on a warm October night
that does not want to turn to morning
as the air, filled with Fall's fragrance,
wafts and lifts you just a few inches off the ground
to bring you back down, gently, without a sound
while your ears roar and your head pounds
with the sounds of post solstice silence...
The changing of the Season brought round again
when we move further from the light
in our not so perfect circle,
like the child who thinks he might
run away from home, returning when he finds
he still can't live alone...
Who knows our faults better than ourselves,
bitterness grows in starts and stops,
if you can't bear the truth, then what else?
Perspective changes view and determines your truth;
it does not change who you are
but it affects all that you do
Again, it come down to acceptance,
a dependence on what you believe,
on the need to believe
for the few things we know
we learned a long time ago
and have been fighting them ever since....
