The shadows on the valley
rising from the milky white ocean of fog;
warmth escaping from the cold
enfolding, gently holding on
hovering just above the ice and snow
waiting for the sunlight to send them where they belong
upward and homeward in their journey to the stars...
How far can you see, how closely do you watch?
Is there a leap in your heart
and a catch in your throat
at what so many see as just another start?
Each day is the first in Eden;
everything is sacred, everything has meaning
Dawn's early light or Twilight's last gleaming
have never been lost on me
but i have been lost in these....
