Home is where the heart is
but not all houses are a home;
just memories and tears are left
when the bank forecloses on a loan
Where's the compassion and understanding,
do they think we can just up and leave?
These families the banks are commanding
scattered to the wind like dry leaves
An army of displaced Americans
caught in the speculation hurricane
as buyers buy hoping to make a killing
in the years to come
leaving the fields fallow until then
helping no one but their bottom line
This has happened not once but many times
and it is the families that struggle
that must try to climb out of the economic hole
What control is there, what compassion
do the banks only see numbers and not families,
that is what i'm asking...
