By the Drop...

If  you take the time to think,
     what else have you been missing?
Life is living by the drop,
     such a precious fluid
Senses surround
     sometimes astound,
jar you into thinking
     what you've forgotten and taken for granted
Is just what you've been missing...

No one taught me about life
    'cause no one had the answers
though i've heard some whopping tales
     and seen some fancy dancers
treading upon thin lines
     preying upon your hopes and dreams
scattering the ashes left
    and laughing behind the scenes...

Better to enjoy the light
     than curse the darkness,
you never know until you try
     is more than a cliche
The simple truth is man doesn't change
     unless the sees the need,
looks and finds himself lacking
     by some sort of degree
or comparison or ratio
    In truth, i don't think we know
what it is we need...
     We only know what we want
and convince ourselves
     it's what we need...
