The World may end
but the Earth will remain
She may heave a sigh of relief,
she may feel a moment of grief
but in the end she will go on just the same,
content in knowing Man is finally gone
For after all the millenia she has been set upon
it would be time for her to catch up,
rest up and start all over again
Would remaining Seven Wonders still remain,
would the Sphinx still stare unblinking
as the skyscrapers fall one by one
like dominoes in a concrete chain?
How long before the Golden Gate leads to nowhere
while pyramids in the jungles still stand proudly
shadows falling on the Snake Stairs
as they have for centuries in the humid air?
Would you be taken up in the Rapture,
or would you be left behind with a camera
trying to capture the last moments
before the glowing turns brighter
turning those left behind into melting candles?
Do you deem yourself worthy
or are you now in a hurry,
trying to make up for lost time
after a lifetime wasted, barely tasted
standing, stuck as always in the wrong line?
I always seem to be suck in the wrong line...!!!
