New Beginning (Every Day)...

Cool but humid morning
     with dew sparkling on the flowers
with the air smelling like the Botanical Gardens
    there is something about this hour
when some of the power leaves the Earth
    and goes slowly into sky
as the birds wake in their nests
    and the sun first hits their eyes
and commuters grumble and groan
     as they make out from their homes
and children off to camp get ready
    eat their breakfast and get clothes on
People walk their dogs and call for their cats
     with annoyance in their voices
wondering just where that cat is at
     Another day, another way
to look at this life we live
    wondering what tomorrow brings
what memories it will give...
