The Whole World Blind...

I watched the Two Towers burn and topple
     read the news and watched Ed Koppel
but is it justice when terrorism is unstoppable,
     when there is still so much to fear?
Retribution is not the solution
     just another drop of blood
in our all too polluted oceans
     For on one shore there are tears of joy
and on the other tears of sadness
     all due to the military mindset madness
as our soldiers bleed it is our leaders who need
    to look at the cause of the problem and heed,
heed the call, take time to recall
    that every revolution has a reason
jihad, holy wars, Crusades, war between States
     end and recommence and in between we have parades
sadly, i think it is all a charade
   and the bottom line, drawn so very fine,
all comes down to money,
     the lack of it and how the greedy won't quit
holding on to what they can never spend in a hundred lifetimes
   Instead of throwing a lifeline to the drowning,
they complain about the flailing  and splashing;
    this is how the world's hopes keep dashing
upon the Scylla and Charybdis of greed
   Let us remember, never forget indeed
but first makes sure what it is you see....
