Sunset sun shower,
the blue, the grey
just enough to wet the grass
and wash the dust away
That dank and dusty smell
with eyes closed you can still tell
in the distance, hills speckled in sunshine
as the river intertwines between them
winding, slowly to the sea....
In a moment, all is grey,
this will not soon go away
The shower's turned to rain,
leaves drip water once again
A moist and musky smell
the difference you can tell
a little water goes a long way
in determining your day
After an hour, the shower turned to rain is done
too late for the return of the sun
gone as quickly as begun
all that's left is the wetness glistening
as the street lights come flickering on....
