Hoc Quodcumque Vides ( All that You Behold)...

Perfection does not exist
     not in the form human
nearly, merely, close enough
is the path most frequently chosen
You need not choose a path less taken,
not just the ripe fruit falls
when the tree is shaken,
adjust the recipe to what you're baking
but always choose fresh not frozen
Keep your eyes on your own prize
let not others tell you what to despise
believe the truth is always in the eyes
even when they turn away
Little wonder they were named irises,
look deep and let it dawn upon you...

  1. The latin title comes from a line from my favorite poet, the Roman Propertius - i sometimes go to by book of his poetry and pick line that strikes my fancy and usually it applies to something that struck me in my own life that day... this poem was inspired by an online friend who mentioned not having a perfect relationship but maybe being good enough... peace
